The Department of Economics is a premier branch in the School of Social Sciences. The Department of Economics came into the existence on August, 2016. It is established to impart quality education in economics and to promote higher research that seeks to provide policy solutions for economic problems face by the businesses, consumers and economics over space and time.

Departmental Activities:

    Dr. S. Mansoor Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, KVR Govt. College for Women, Kurnool was invited to give a lecture on "Changing scenario of Federal Finance System in India" on 06-04-2018.

Students Activities:

Students of U.G. and P.G have attended a Two Day National Seminar on "Emerging Trends in Indian Economy: Sectoral Problems and Policy Outcomes" on October 5th and 6th 2018 organized by Department of Economics, Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh.

Students of U.G. and P.G have attended a One Day National Seminar on "Changing Scenario Women in the Era of Globalization-Issues and Concerns" on 28th September 2018 organized by Departments of Economics and Rural Development, KVR Govt. College for Women, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

Students of U.G. and P.G have attended a One Day National Seminar on "GST Reforms in India and its impact" on 17th February 2018 organized by Department of Economics and Commerce, Silver Jubilee Govt. College, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
